Programme Reps are elected by their peers to represent the specific year group of their course. The post is voluntary and lasts one academic year, however you are welcome to be a rep for your entire time at university. You will:
- Talk regularly with students on your programme to learn their needs and views on teaching, facilities, wellbeing and more, using this feedback to bring the student voice to discussions with programme staff to make changes on your course.
- Signpost students to relevant staff or support services at the University or Students’ Union.
- Attend and contribute to Townhall meetings to bring the lived student experience and insight to discussion and have regular meetings with your Programme Leader to provide updates on the student experience.
- Help your academic staff understand student feedback the University collects.
- Close the feedback loop to keep students in-the-know of decisions being made on their course so they can have their say.
- Raise major issues with your School and/or Equality Reps and respond to their communications. Submit an end-of-year report to the Students’ Union on common themes and issues your programme experienced.
- Work with relevant academic societies to support extracurricular events or socials that improve your programme’s community spirit.
- Stay up to date with news and key info from your SABB Team and NSU Student Voice Team that would be beneficial for your students.
- Attend mandatory training delivered by the NSU Student Voice and promote our opportunities to your students, such as Student Forum and Awards.
